Questions

A few things to know before you put pen to paper.

Dear curious reader,

Writing

What is Kept?

Kept helps you write a real letter to someone who matters. Choose a prompt, answer a few gentle questions if you like, then write in your own words on stationery you choose.

Will AI write my letter for me?

Suggestions are optional. They never overwrite your words or invent memories or facts. Elsie, our AI companion, can help when you feel stuck, but the letter is always yours.

Do I need an account to start?

No. Start writing straight away. Your draft saves on this device. Sign in when you want to keep it in My letters and send it.

Can I choose the paper and font?

Yes. Choose stationery and a literary, typewriter or handwritten font. You can also write in Typewriter mode. Your choices stay with your letter when you share or print it.

What does premium stationery cost?

One payment of £1.99 unlocks the Garden stationery pack, including future premium papers. The free papers stay free.

Sending and replies

How does someone receive my letter?

Sending creates a private link for you to share by message or email. Sending directly to an inbox from Kept is coming soon.

Can they write back?

Yes. Your recipient can reply from the private letter page without an account. Their reply appears as new in your letter's private inbox.

Can I edit a letter after sending it?

A sealed letter keeps the words and design you sent. You can continue the conversation through replies, or write another letter.

What is a shared letterbook?

A private book of the letters and replies between you and one person. You choose which sent letters go in it. You can also make a printable book of your own letters.

Privacy

Who can read my letters?

Your saved letters are private to your account. Anyone holding a letter's private link can read that letter, so share it only with the people you want to see it. Letters never appear in a public feed.

Can I turn off a private link?

Yes. You can turn a letter's link off so people holding it can no longer open it. This cannot take back copies someone has already saved.

What do share cards show?

Only that you wrote a letter. They never include your letter, the recipient or any words from it.

By post

Can Kept post my letter?

Posted letters are coming soon. Printing and payments are currently being tested, so test orders do not send real post. The planned price is £2.99 for your first posted letter, then £4.99, for UK addresses only.

How would a posted letter get a reply?

A QR code on the printed letter opens the private reply page. Your recipient scans it and writes back.

Will there be a real wax seal?

The postal preview shows the experience we have in mind. Current print files include envelope and seal artwork on the address insert. Custom outer envelopes and physical wax seals are not confirmed delivery options.

Can I print my letter myself?

Yes. You can print your letter, or save it as a PDF using your device's print window. You can also create a printable letter book with a cover and contents page.

With love,

Some things deserve a letter.
